Same 2 children who at the time when the project starts will be at the age of 12 month and same 2 children at the age of 36 month will be monitored and recorded during 2 years period. Each age group will consist of 2 children in order to address the limitations related to this study\u2019s design (probability for a possible drop out of a study participant due to study\u2019s duration).\" aria-autocomplete=\"list\" aria-multiline=\"true\" data-is-placeholder-visible=\"false\">\n<li>Monolingual environment \u2013 specifically, the mother language for the family members and nanny (in case\nif the child has a nanny) needs to be Georgian. Language environment for the child also needs to be<br>Georgian.<\/li>\n<li>Socially sustained families, from Tbilisi (to avoid dialects), parents with formal education<\/li>\n<li>At the time of the start of the project participants need to meet criteria of age appropriate development in all develomental areas confirmed by relevant check ups and assessment tools (Assessment, Evaluation,\nand Programming System for Infants and Children (AEPS\u00ae), translated and adapted to\nGeorgian).<\/li>\n<li>If possible, gender balance will be considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"justify\">Data collection would involve monthly video recording of 5 hour per child linguistic samples. The children will be videotaped\/audiotaped for 5 hours during each 3rd week of a month during the times when they are more actively engaged in talking. Obtained video\/audio data will be archived, transcripted and uploaded on the corpus.\nSelection criteria for participants of the study:\n- Monolingual environment \u2013 specifically, the mother language for the family members and nanny (in case\nif the child has a nanny) needs to be Georgian. Language environment for the child also needs to be\nGeorgian.\n- Socially sustained families, from Tbilisi (to avoid dialects), parents with formal education\n- At the time of the start of the project participants need to meet criteria of age appropriate development in\nall develomental areas confirmed by relevant check ups and assessment tools (Assessment, Evaluation,\nand Programming System for Infants and Children (AEPS\u00ae), translated and adapted to\nGeorgian).\n- If possible, gender balance will be considered.\nPrior to data collection family members will be trained how to conduct recordings by the project team. Parental\nconsent letters will be signed by parents indicating that the recordings will be used by ISU linguistic lab and Child\nDevelopment Institute, considering ethical issues. The research assistants will keep in close touch with the family\ncontact person, and caretaker-recorders will be encouraged to maintain a natural and spontaneous atmosphere\nthroughout recording situations. They will be also instructed to specify the exact situation in which recording\ntook place at the outset and in the course of each session. Families will be monthly rewarded by small payments.\nDuring the first 6 months one pilot record will be made, processed and entered into the database. All technical\nand content related issues arisen after piloting will be considered in future work.
